In 2015, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of heart failure. I was told that I would need a heart transplant to survive. I was placed on the waiting list, and I began the long and difficult journey of waiting for a new heart.

The waiting list is a strange and lonely place. You are constantly reminded of your own mortality, and you are forced to confront the possibility that you may not get a new heart in time. It is a time of great uncertainty and anxiety.

But the waiting list is also a place of hope. It is a place where you meet other people who are going through the same thing, and you can share your experiences and support each other. It is a place where you can learn about the latest treatments and research, and where you can find strength and hope.

My Journey

My journey on the waiting list was long and difficult. I spent many months in the hospital, and I had to endure multiple surgeries and procedures. I also had to deal with the emotional roller coaster of hope and disappointment.

There were times when I felt like I was giving up. I was tired of being sick, and I was tired of waiting. But I always managed to find the strength to keep going. I had a lot of support from my family and friends, and I knew that they were counting on me.

I also had a lot of support from the other people on the waiting list. We shared our stories, our fears, and our hopes. We helped each other to stay positive, and we gave each other strength.

The Transplant

After two years on the waiting list, I finally received a new heart. The surgery was a success, and I am now recovering well. I am so grateful to the donor and their family for giving me this second chance at life.

I am now living a full and active life. I am able to do all the things that I used to do, and I am even able to do some new things that I never thought I would be able to do. I am so grateful for the gift of life that I have been given.

The waiting list is a difficult place, but it is also a place of hope. If you are waiting for a heart transplant, I urge you to stay strong and to never give up hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it is worth fighting for.
